Description:

Father Alfredo Zepeda J.S has lived for more than 40 years, in the northern Sierra Veracruz, México. He has walked and provide guidance to the indigenous people of the regions, who have been marginalized throughout history. He works and is part of a community radio station, Radio Huayacocotla, “the peasant’s voice”. In this radio they talk four languages, spanish, nahuatl, otomí, and tepehua, which are the main languages spoken on this regions. The radio accompanies the communities through their educational programming. Besides the music, here they talk about human rights; empowerment of women in communities, guidance to youth and children, defense of territory and the preservation of the culture and customs, seeking the “good living”.
