The missionary heart in Japan [SPECIAL SELECTION]

Original title: The missionary heart in Japan

Director: Nanami Uchiyama

University: Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan

Description:

Japan is a country where the percentage of Christians to the total population is less than one percent. Paula, a member of Servidores del Evangelio de la Misericordia de Dios, is a lecturer at Sophia University in Tokyo and has been working with the youths for three decades. The director met Paula in her freshman year and the missionaries inspired her very much that eventually led her to be baptized as a Catholic. As a senior year student, she spent half of her student life under the pandemic effects. Nanami planned the pilgrimage in the sincere hope that she would have the opportunity to share with others the freedom and peace she had received. As they prepare for the pilgrimage, the thirst for peace is emerging in the outbreaks of war around the world, especially between Ukraine and the Russian federation. How will the missionary’s heart be involved in the history of Nagasaki and in the lives of the 12 pilgrims?.
